Summer Reading

I am addicted to books. Rather, I am addicted to collecting them--I've never actually found time to read one. This summer, I'm going to make time. Here are some ideas:
Update: Is there interest in a GSoC 07 Book Club? We would choose one or more books (depending on length), read, and discuss. If you're interested or have book suggestions, please leave a comment.

Update 2: Please vote in the poll.

I own a copy of the GEB and have read random parts of it for years. If there is enough interest, I would love to read along with people and discuss it.

I am mostly planning to read a large part of Landau's series :)

Regarding your book list .. well penrose is ok.. I personally am a Dawkins fan. Do read more of his books.

I'm very much a fan of The Selfish Gene. The man's a good debater, and it shows in his writing.

How about something shorter by Stephenson? (No way anyone is getting through the baroque cycle in a summer) Or perhaps one book could be Vernor Vinge's The Peace War.

The Peace War is an interesting suggestion. The Diamond Age by Stephenson is 512 pages. Snow Crash is shorter, but I've read that one. My list above is based on books I own that need to be read eventually, so please feel free to recommend whatever.
